Highly technical & extremely controversial topics. Not for the faint of heart

Why do they even make dumb blades for JKpen version ?

Post by Amali »

Have you ever wondered why all the jkPen (Japanese and Korean penhold) blades come in only dumb versions ?
I can see why cPen blades being dumb for those who play RPH (Reverse Penhold) style using both sides to loop .
But it makes absolutely no sense to me to make a jkPen blade in a dumb version (both sides identical layer composition)
Almost all jkPen players do not use the backside of their rackets to strike the ball
Of course I know there are a few jkPen blades designed for twiddlers but that is an exception

I would tend to think this applies to any one side grip player with Asian or American (aks Seemiller) grip
This would apply to any penholder including cPen who plays TPH (Traditional Penhold) style and does not use the backside of the racket at all
