When I get a new blade, I epoxy all around the edges. Then I also epoxy the throat of the blade about 4 mmboth sides & make sure it meets & connects the area where the eadges end on both sides.
I do this because I had some blades have the handle break off at the throat from rackethead.
Then I tape all around the edges as well using an insulation tape & such similar tape

It does make the blade little stiffer & adds a few grams but I am willing to live with that.
