It is not the other way around.
Therefore the problem with claiming to play just for fun is that peopel want to use this as a sorry excuse whenever they lose.
There is nothing wrong in losing as everyone or team loses. But the hypocrisy comes only when you start making nonsense claim that you are playing for fun only when you lose but claim to compete when you are winning.
