Sanwei Ghost

As most of you may not know for sure, pips rubbers listed on ITTF LARC are 200% functionally useless in the 40+ plastic ball ONLY era. This section is for discussion about older rubbers from 38 mm ball era & 40- celluloid ball ere that may be still more functionally useful in the 40+ plastic ball era than rubbers designed for 40+ plastic ball ONLY era. This section also discusses new rubbers that are not listed on ITTF LARC but are functionally superior to rubbers currently listed on current ITTF LARC. Contrary to popular myth ITTF is NOT the sole supreme authority on table tennis & you are free to use these super functional rubbers as you wish. The question of who will play against you is a just only a matter of who are your true friends in table tennis & not ITTF rules or regulations especially at lower levels & especially in tournaments not affiliated with ITTF (incorrectly referred to as “unsanctioned” tournaments)

I don't use short pips but I tried to, using this on my forehand.

I think this is a great rubber if you are power attack player because the pips are huge

Interesting hing is that the PDD (pip distributiong density) also seems high (pips closer together), which will giv emore spin
Another interesting thing is that the pip tops are rough . which will also give more spin

So I never understood such a design because the pips are huge. (Larger diameter pips are faster).

Overall is a good power attack (strong side or forehand) rubber with lots of speed for flat kills & punch blocks when contact angle is vertical
But this probably can produce some spin also because of loser pips & rough pip tops.

I think Sanwei probably dropped it because they did not want to play licensing fees due to possibly low sales.
But would probbaly sell like hotcakes if they released a new verison with smoother (glassy) pip tops instead of rough, because the pisp are huge for speed
