Net Gauge Document from 2014 so obsolete after 2024 rule change

Post by Magdalena »

Take a look at the T5 Net Gauge BoD2014 document

This is so obsolete.
Because ITTF made a rule change in 2024 that increased the maximum allowed rubber thickness from 4.00 mm to 4.05 mm
This was done to "accomodate" cheaters who boost illegally (under common law)
Bizarre thing about this "rule" chnage is that this directly contrdicts Rule 2.4.7 that passed in 2008, which prohibits chemical alteration of the rubber

So the mechanical implements such as the net gauge & rod may be obsolete because they are only 4.00 mm and not 4.05 mm
Yes the Digital thikness device will work but how many umpires or clubs really have it ? LOL
