Re: Maniika Batra & Ayhika Mukherjee fired from Team India for Asian Games 2026
What is objective here ?
Win medals or reward domestic performance ?
Tough choice of course
India women highly unlikely to win a medal even if Manika & Sreeja played
But India has better chance in doubles
And even better chance in teams to to make the teams finals & even challenge China
I doubt the current chosen team can beat Japan or Korea
If the objective is to make team finals to challenge China I would go as follows
I know I added 3 inexperienced players but Divyanshi & Yashaswini are in current form
I know it looks bad too leave out Sreeja & Manika but it is always a question of What have to done for me lately
It is a cold brutal world
As far as two wing loopers , the Indian Government should not fund TTFI if they include any double inverted players on the team.
It is OK to send them for individual world events in WTT or Olympics if they qualify but for team events or top tier events Like Asian & World' Championships , it is a complete joke to include them & this sets a bad example for other Indian young girls giving them delusions they can succeed with double inverted rackets on world stage

I read somewhere that 50 percent weight to national rankings, 40 percent to world rankings and 10 percent to discretionary considerations
Since Manika never played domestically it seems, looks like she will miss out.
