Can anyone explain from physics this crazy phenomenon ?
When the ball hits the net or opponent's finger & lands on other side, the ball seems to have an insane amounts of spin
Or is it or some other crazy phenomenon from physics ?
Watch the match between Shrestha Nabita and Kuai Man .
Asian Games 2026

Second match of 3 match video > Go to 30:20 of video Score 2:8
Shrestha Nabita serves & the ball seems to hit Kuai Man's finger & bounces way up & lands on other side but breaks 90 degrees
Why do net balls & finger balls get insane amounts of spin

Re: Why do net balls & finger balls get insane amounts of spin
The only plausible explanation I have heard from physics is as follows for the
The linear velocity of the ball is massively killed hitting a crashing brake when the ball hits the net or hand below the wrist (legal under rules)
But the ball retains all the spin.
I do not know how valid this explanation is though

I am surprised at Shrestha Nabita
She is a a very experienced player and even runs a TT academy in Nepal
I thought she would know that everything below the wrist is considered a part of the racket
