Short pips is the biggest garbage as weakside (usually backhand) rubber

Short pips may work as a strong side (usually forehand) rubber for a very few younger players & some older players who cannot loop.

But short pips is the worst of all 5 rubbers types (spinny inverted, anti, medium pips, short pips or long pips) as a weakside (usually backhand for most players) rubber.

Thanks for finding this table. It celarly explains why short pips is useless as a weakside rubber.

Lot of players get confused when they se the few penholders using it successfully on the forehand

Other players mistakenly go for short pips or anti for weakside (backhand )because short pips & anti can do a little bit of everything but medium pips is a far superior choice for that. But obviously since these honorary loopers are afraid of social rejection by robotNazis they stick to short pips or anti on weakside (backhand)
