Hello.
I've been using yinhe neptune for years and it's starting to feel slow and hard to play with. Blade is palio chop 1, diode v clone.
Should I get something like c&f 3, or just replace the sponge with a 1mm German or Japanese sponge?

Is this the same sheet of neptune for years? If so just replace with a new sheet. Rubber ages, even pips!
You may want to check LARC before commenting about older rubbers , especially the so called "long" pips on lARC

The bad News is thet Neptune seems to be headed to the chopping block on ITTF LARC at the end of Third Quarter September 2024 LARC
I may be wrong but I think Chinese companies most likely will not renew if a new version (see below) is released

The good news is that the Moxa Neptune Version will stay approved

Both versions are available on Ali Express

I think Neptune has smooth pip top. If that is the case, then aging is better because pips become more frictionless LOL
