She can play for Women's teams assuming they are being literal. But that said, everyone and their unborn little ones in the womb knew this was coming already - WYD was just pretending not to know. The two losses to Hayata closed the discussion but then another loss to Hirano, another loss to India, the number of losses gave them a way to make it happen without eliminating other players... obviously at her best, she is easily competitive with all of them, but the real problem is the existence of WMY. With WMY's existence and resurgence in form, taking the risks of fielding CM (already 30 and sporting back injury and losses to Bernadette and now Hayata) or WYD makes little sense. If SYS or WMY lose, they have far more cover. Even last year, when they announced this, we knew in the end, they would find a way to send SYS and WMY.

Number #1 spot for both teams & singles probably goes to Sun Yingsha
So that leaves Chen Meng & Sun Yingsha to fight it out for #2 spot.
It is quite possible that they may choose Wang Manyu instead of Chen Meng since Chen Meng i sweak against long pips & anti (she lost doubles llast year at Asian Games against India & therefore was not selected for the match against Indian at Busan WTTTC 2024)
