Hey,
I've been thinking of trying short pips for a while now but I don't know much about them.
I'm looking for something that does everything decently. Easy blocking on the table, chopping from mid distance, and to easily play drives on the table. The drive part is why I'm not going for long pips, tried them, didn't work out. I couldn't get used to not having an inverted-like drive. As for the chopping part, I'll figure it out, long pips are good for that, but suffer everywhere else in my game.
I'm on a budget too, so Chinese pips would be great. I like soft sponges too. I've seen so far the 802-40 Mystery III, 802 Mystery III, Legend 802 and Uranus Pro going for good prices.
The last one I played was Stiga Clippa, years and years ago. I really loved that rubber, it felt soft, nice and slow, and super easy to play. Any reccomendations?
In case it matters, they'll be put on a BTY Korbel Euro.
Thanks in advance!
Huge mistake .
Click on link below to read full details why wide pips is the most useless as a backhand rubber
Wide pips is not a backhand rubber
Note 1:- Wide pips is what okayers mistakenly refers to as short pips. ITTF calls then "out" in its LARC to confuse the issue because all pips are "out" to start with
Note 2 :- Slim pips are what ITTF deceptively refers to as "long" in its LARC to confude & mislead pips players. There are no "long" pips in ITTF . Long pips were origibally banned inb 1983 , confirmed again in 1998 & conformed again 8 more times after 1998
