Anyway, piligrim obviously does not understand the reason why Heyrmen proposed what he proposed. It is because it is not always about the same very best players reaching the quarter finals of every damn event even if they are not from the same country ,
In the case of TableTennis it is far worse because it is Chinese CNY players or Chinese who moved to other countries reaching the later stages of every event.
So if clueless piligrim is correct, why should they have the limit of 2 players per country in the Olympics ? Why not just let the best players qualify regardless of the country ?
In any sport, the goals of promoting the sport globally must have a much higher priority than a bunch of same players from the same country hogging every event.
Does that seem unfair ? May be . But then If you think so , you might as well let all the 1000s of players from China play in every WTT event because there are probably 1000s of Chinese players who are better the very best players in other countries.
