Smart and dumb rackets and coaching malpractice
But it got me wondering as to whet are some of the best and worst rackest designs

A dumb racket would have the same type rubber both sides.
The dumbest of dumb rackets would have identical rubbers on both sides of a racket.
Of course most of such stupid tackets are double inverted rackets in the hands of amateur players.
Even most pro playersdo not use idential rubbers on both sides of a racket.
These players have been so thoroghly brainwashed by the ITTF that they waste away their TableTennis with the delusion that human forehand can be identica to human backhand

The smartest of smart rackest would have spinny inverted rubber on one side
The other side (usually backhand) would be OX long pips (actual long pips NOT ITTF social slim pips)
And this would be also an asymmetric blade
Why ? Because such a racket design provide the player with maximum possible spin contrast (maximum top spin & maximum back spin)

The smartest of smart rackest would have spinny inverted rubber on one side (usually forehand except if & when twiddling)
The other side (usually backhand) would be OX long pips (actual long pips bit ITTF social slim pips)
And this would be also an asymmetric blade
Why ? Because such a racket design provide the player with maximum possible (click link >>)
spin contrast (maximum top spin & maximum back spin)
Exceptions are most older players & most para players who may have never learned to loop when they were younest.
In such cases the best you can do is frictioned wide pips with pips and sponge on one side (usually forehand) & and a frictionless type actual OX long pips on other side (usually backhand except if & when twiddling) . But if these players have developed very good serves using spinny inverted runner. they could still use spinny inverted on one side even if they never were trained to loop (top spin) in their youth.
This is also also the most lethal combination in otherwise younger players as well if they are talented enough to be able to use wide pips forehand.
