Lot of amateurs , even those who are NOT new to the sport, seem to have this ongoing delusion that to pros use the same blades and rubbers that come out on the production line. The myth is that if you use the same blade or rubber that the pros seem to be using, you could probably play close to the level of the pro .
In all fairness , TableTennis is not the only sport that has this anomaly but it is just much more of a problem in TableTennis because of the varied types of rubbers and blades available & various possible playing styles
