563 is a great rubber & has stood the test of time from the 38 mm ball era to 40+ mm plastic ball eracarlo wrote: On Sunday December 14, 2025 at 1:55 AM #1
I am currently using the blade w968 and bold dragon national on the forehand, on my backhand im using the medium pips ox 563, the 563 eagle is somehow hard to control sometimes, and I'm currently looking for a medium pips ox for chopping and chop blocking or for absorbing
But it is strictly a forehand rubber with sponge for all round play.
Any & all wide pips rubbers are NOT backhand rubbers.
Wide pips is strictly a forehand rubber mostly for penholders or older players any grip , who cannot or never learned to loop in their youth .
Also if you want to chop block you want a smart blade

Firstly, why medium pips? From what I've seen LP does what you ask for too, and with LP there are more options.?

Anywho, I think you can just... add a sponge. MP works with sponge from what I've heard, so maybe you can do that?
And you heard wrong.......not unusual with a large number of clueless posters on TableTennisDaily forum.
Sponge reduces control for amateurs (for pips on backhand)
Also it makes it much worse for chop blocking .
For backhand chop blocking the one and only suitable rubber is non-ITTF long pips.
It definitely is NOT ITTF slim pips
And most definitely is NOT any wid pips
