Good question
All spins tt covers all spin types top spin, back spin , side spin as well as no spin

The wide pips (with thick(er) sponge on the forehand) are for no spin play.
This goes to back to to the great block & smash Asian world champions such as Zhuang Zedong of the 1960's , Jiang Jialiang of the 1980s & the last one, the 1993 Women's singles champion Hyun Jung-hwa
But they are all Asian grip (aka penhold grip) players.
There had been only one or two high level European grip (aka shakehand or tennis grip) forehand wide pips players , Johnny Huang & Mattias Karlsson ( pka Falck )

The focus of the ITTF now is strictly top spin only Olympic table tennis all the while making bold claims that ITTF is focused on style diversity , which is very successful because they sure have fooled the pips players ever since 1977 , especially the most ignorant & clueless of them all, the slim pips choppers.
Ther had been two very successful penhold twiddling chop block + flat hitting style players > Zhou Xintong & Li Xialian
This is why Ankolika 's (wide pips no spin flat hitting) + (back spin chop blocking) style is so unique because she is a shakehander even if she does not have full (twiddling control) of which rubber side to use when like a twiddling penholders Zhou Xintong & Li Xialian do
