Hey everyone! My friend, @zhzhzhz, is in the process of making a heterogenous blade by shaving off the top ply of his T11s blade! He will notify us of his progress in this thread, so look out!

After this is done, the blade will be a 4+2 ply, one side being an outer and the other a super outer.

Stay tuned for the testing and review!
Not exactly
There is a lot of confusion about whether the outermost layer of a blade can be composite material or only can be wood if it will be used in an ITTF sanctioned tournament

True, because of the extremely ambiguous use of the word "within" in the rule about blades in the latest ITTF statutes

2.4.2 At least 85% of the blade by thickness shall be of natural wood; an adhesive
layer within the blade may be reinforced with fibrous material such as carbon
fibre, glass fibre or compressed paper, but shall not be thicker than 7.5% of
the total thickness or 0.35mm, whichever is the smaller.

What does "within" mean ?
Does it mean within entire content of the blade
or
Does it mean the composite material can only be within the blade , which means it cannot be the outermost layer

ITTF can make it very clear by adding a sentence " The outermost layer of a blade can only only be a wood layer"
But knowing ITTF, they never will
