Petra Sörling (SWE) was re-elected President of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Doha on Tuesday, 27 May 2025. Sörling received 104 votes, while her opponent, Khalil Al-Mohannadi (QAT), received 102.
Election Process and Outcome
As the communication of the outcome of the election resulted in the disruption of the AGM and in unsubstantiated allegations of irregularity.
AGM Suspension and Next Steps
After the presidential election had already concluded, the AGM had to be suspended following the disruption initiated by individuals who were neither delegates from Member Associations, nor members of the Executive Board, Council, Committees, or invited guests.
Clearly there are high stakes here, and I get the feeling that the presidency of ITTF is not just about table tennis anymore.
But there the 3 versions to each story as a judge in a court would say
The plaintiff 's version , the defendant's version , the truth in between
Because some other sources claim Khalil Al-Mohannadi (QAT) won
Khalil Al-Mohannadi: 98
Petra Sörling: 87
QTTA claims votes got somehow changed & both parties make different claims
HaggisV acts as if he is neutral but you can clearly see his bias
He claims that Petra Sorling won 104-102 without posting any clear proof as to why & how 98-87 for Khalil Al-Mohannadi (QAT) suddenly became 104-102 for Petra Sorling
I noticed that noone replied to HaggisV 's post in OOAk forum for obvious reason > they know how HaggisV is
