From experience with choppers of all playing levels, I have noticed this sad fact

I can completely understand if newbie choppers have this delusion but what blows my mind are experienced choppers at all levels

Choppers are under the sad delusion that ITTF really likes them and wants them in the sport

This despite the (click link >) 18 rule and regulation changes since 1977 to severely limit the back spin capabilities of choppers , blaming the at table blockers and their rubbers as the reason for this change

Will you choppers ever wake up smell the boosters? Obviously you did not smell the spein glues :D

One of the biggest reasons why choppers stay in a constant state of confusion is the misinformation campaign by manufacturers to sell wide pips (incorrectly known as short pips) rubbers to clueless newbies. The robotNazis back this up with their own disinformation campaign to convince choppers that wide pips is a chopping rubber and you do not need even ITTF slim pips let alone actual non-ITTF long pips.

Even experienced players absolutely do not understand the operational mechanics of the wide pips as compared to ITTF slim pips let along actual non ITTF long pips or more importantly the very reason for the invention of actual long pips in table tennis (before long pips rubbers were banned at the Birmingham 1977 BGM)
Wide pips are are wider & stiffer (but even if not necessarily shorter than slim pips or of course long pips ........ this is where the confusion comes from) by its nature. So stiff & wide pips cane NEVER EVER generate more back spin or provide more spin variation than even ITTF slim pips let alone non ITTF actual long pips. It is not possible PERIOD. But it is a delusion created by manufacturers to sell more wide pips rubbers... nothing more
They use examples of Ding Song , Hou Yingchao, Han Ying etc . But these players excel NOT because they use wide pips but despite their using it because they so incredibly talented. But It still does not mean they are playing to their maximum potential
