Best forehand rubber type for an older player

Post by Bibiana »

Looking for the best rubber type for my father.
He is 62 and does not play in tournaments but had played recreationally.
Thanks

If he top spins (or loops) a lot from his forehand , he should use some sort of spinny inverted rubber.
You can start with an inexpensive rubber

If he never learned to loop, spinny inverted rubber is a big liaibility. The only other logical option is short pips with sponge

On the backhand the ONLY logical choice is some sort of blocking type long pips.
Not spinny inverted. Not anti spin. And most defintely NOT short pips
