Spoosting / spin gluing is primarily a health issue not a performance issue

Highly technical & extremely controversial topics. Not for the faint of heart

Spoosting / spin gluing is primarily a health issue not a performance issue

Post by Maren Nodi »

ITTF has been double dealing the IOC & players

On one side ITTF pretends like spoosting / spin gluing is a health issue to hoodwink the IOC into believing that they are performing aggressive chemical testing to catch Rule 2.4.7 violators

But the fact of the matter is that IOC spot checks a few players at the highest levels on a voluntary basis (this is hilarious) butthere is zero chemical testing at lower levels , as if the health of the lower level players is not important.

On the other side ITTF had been looking the other way as for a s players are concerned. They have been led to believe that spin gluing & spoosting are no longer a health issue because the players are so honest & only use so called non VOC chemicall.
There are two problems with this
1. Rule 2.4.7 does not say spoosting & spin gluing is OK if you used so called VOC free chmeicals
2. There is no such thing as a list of VOC free ITTF approved chemicals. Even if there was one, it would eb stupid of players who cheat use them because performancewise they are utterly useless because the more carciogenic a spooster or spin glue is, the better it will perform spin & speed wise. So why would a player buy a more expensive so called approved & VOC free boosters while they can make their own own voc-ful concoctions at lower levels , where there is zero testing

LOL This is all the more true in econmically underdeveloped countries.
Players definitely cannot so called approved glues & make their own cheap & even more dangerous concotions which is a huge health hazard.
