No. This is not a new tournament
WVC (World Veterans Championships) was run by Swaythyling Club & no longer will be run by them after 2023 in Oman
ITTf has taken over this now & renamed it World Masters Table TEnnis Championships

Only difference I saw was that Mixed Doubles was discontinued by WVC but had been brought back by Wolrd Masters Championships, which will have Mens Singles , Women's Singles , Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles & Mixed Doubles in age groups of 5 from 40 to 90

I heard from some former WVC participants that they received an email saying that they increased the player limit from 5000 to 6000
As of today, September 22, 2023, there are already 5,245 entries

It shows 6060 players today. Looks like they did indeed increase total players to 6000
Maybe someone can confirm

The organization arranges same-sex pairs from among all registered members and within the same age, but can invite one registered member. If you don't do this you run the risk of the organization choosing and then one of them not going. It already happened in Norway.

A organização arranja pares do mesmo sexo de entre todos os inscritos e dentro da mesma idade, mas pode convidar um membro inscrito. Se não o fizer corre o risco de a organização escolher e depois um deles não vai. Já aconteceu na Noruega.

The General information page above says 5000 players.
But I heard they increased to 6000 players
I see 6110 players are entered.

Also there is no information on any top players entered

But they have not updated their General Information page to reflect this
