When the Aspect Ratio rule was passed by Scholer & ITTF, the pathetic & lame reason given by Scholer (aggressively promoted by Rev. Larry Hodges later) was that billions of children are leaving table tennis because pips are too long & funky.

Now we learn that children in India ( ^ Taiwan etc) actually do NOT want to start in table tennis using dumb rackets
