Der_Echte , Gambler Rosewood is NOT an oversized blade

I bought the ALL oversized rosewood outer chopping blade. I think the combo with the crappy FH rubber (sevens) and the good .6 sponge LP cost me $55 with the case and shipping.

Took a while to adjust to that blade, but I got it done, I chop well and with Aurus on FH, I can crush a topspin when I decide to.

EDIT, here is the blade link. Hmm, a $28 blade.
Below is the link to the blade
Gambler Rosewood

HELLO !!!
165 mm in not an oversized blade. It is just a semi-large blade
170 mm is a large blade
175 mm is the oversized blade

Dear Der ,

There are 2 problems with this blade.
May be you are new to this but you need to wrap your mind about two key facts about defensive blades

1. They need to be at least large size (about 179 mm or close) if not oversized (close to 175 mm)
2. They need to be asymmetric blades , which means the forehand composition layer composition must be different from backhand. This is not mandatory but is ideal.

My advice to you is that you make a custom blade since no production blades are available in large or oversized sizes.

Good luck

Check out Derek May's racket at 1.07 of this video below

Derek May has been over 2100 USATT and is father of Derek May (highest rating close to 2600),former US team member & probably the only male chopper in US history in sponge era (thanks to ITTF exterminating choppers of course)

What puzzles me is as to why Derek May is 1. not using an oversized asymmetric racket with OX rubber of super spin type & not the low spin rubbes deceptivelt listed as Long on ITT LARC
