Re: Manufacturer Blades (Frames) Re-Impact
The blade size marked as Large (168 mm length x 169 mm width) in just semi-large blade
It definitely is not large
These blades are suitable for at the table blocking type defenders only
These DEFINTELY are not suitable for away from the table chopping defenders. It is a joke in the 40+ plastic ball only era.
Choppers need all the back spin they can get given that ITTF makes rule change after change to limit the choppers.
I have tested 1000s of times. Every single mm helps. Believe me. Especially if the stupid choppers want to use the so called long pips on ITTF LARC which are a joke
An ideal chopper blade would be at least 170 mm in both length and width
Preferred size is like 172 mm or better in both length and width
This is because amateur choppers should NOT be using pips side with sponge
Amateur choppers should use ONLY OX (no sponge) long pips
(I won't go into reasons here)
So the weight of the blade is not an issue
Pro choppers need sponge under their long pips but they are pros and they should be able to adjust for slight increase in weight.
For blockers your blades with length more than width should be OK the width should definitely be same length for away from the table choppers. You can cut to shape the top edges slightly like in a cyber shape blade ,
If course it is a matter of personal preference but as a high level chopper with close to 50 years experience I think I have an idea
