Here is an initial partial list of production blades

Re: Smart blades database (Initial draft)
This is all the more true if you are away from the table chopper / modern defender since zero non-custom blades exist for this playing style in the 40+ plastic ball only era. The market is very small for such blades to invest R & D for these baldes, as ITTF has successfully extreminated all choppers on the male side.

Sanwei Two face
Click to open Official webpage for the blade
TOTALLY useless for combination style shakehand players because the head is too small
But may work for shakehnad attack players who are forehand power loopers (or wide pips hitters) and soft loopers on backhand
And useless for CPen penholders ( chop blockers ) because handle may be too long
Of course useless for J/K penholders ( chop blockers ) because the handle is not designed for twiddling
Maybe this blade will work for some American grip ( Seemiller / Boggan ) players
This blade deinitely has no right to call itself a defensive blade whether for blockers or definitely for choppers (in the 40+ plastic ball era)
Andrea Jiang at Sanwei seems easy to work with & told me they can make custom ( smart ) blades

I have heard good things about this blade .
This may be a good blade for shakehand pips blockers
This blade has carbon on on one side

Re: Smart blades database (Initial draft)
Are you sure smart blades really helps a player's game that much ?
Can players, especially amateur players even see any significant difference at all between the two sides ?
If this is true wouldm't Butterfly , Stiga etc have made these blades long ago ?

Re: Smart blades database (Initial draft)
Good questions
However there are few reasons smart baldes took off earlier
1. In the 38 mm ball era it was not that significant because the materials were still not wel developed & there were no composite materials yet fully developed & still in initial stages.
2. Lot more imporatnat reason is the ITTF ' s brainwashing of players into thikinbg that top spin was the only way to play TableTennis . So it was assumed that al players will play the same style both forehand & backhand as was from the hardbat days. Weirdest part of all this is that the sport, TableTennis is trying emulate by emphasizing top spin play, the sport of tennis, has already identified the ingernet weakness of human backhand and has moved on to two handed backhand more than 50 years ago. Yet TableTennis is desperately trying to forcefeed the top spin only model on new players .
3. It is all the more important in the 40+ plastic ball only era for players to understand the difference in laying styles for forehand & backhand and design the racket properly for this. The blade may not be as significant as the rubber but still one needs to maximize the benefits of a smart blade design as much as possible

It has 5 wood and 2 cloth layers and symmetric
It is not a smart blade.
I have tested it extensively during transition from 40- celluloid to 40+ plastic ball era
It was borderline decent in the 40- celluloid era but became far less useful in the 40+ plastic ball era

It is a smart blade (meaning asymmetric omposition),
All I meant to say ws that it is not suitable for choppers or chop blockers but is only good for offensive players because of small blade size
The only dinstinguishng factor between a smart blade & and a dumb balde is that a dumb blade has identical layer composition on both sides of the blade, whereas on a smart blade the layer composition of both sides is different.
The blade head size has nothing to do with it.
A blade can be an oversized blade (170 mm by 170 mm( but it is still a dumb blade if the layer composition is same both sides
