Re: Why are table tennis rackets so small ?
During hardbat days most players (both the very best pros & others) used larger rackets
This is because top pros like Richard Bergmann, Fernc Sido & the lady GOAT Angelica Rozeanu etc all used large rackets chopping was an integral part of their all round playing style.
In the sponge era , the weight of the racket became a problem as the sport gradually moved towards rackets with thick spong both sides.
But this has now become the top spin only Olympic version of table tennis which uses thick sponges. More weight had been added with illegal boosting and spein gluing.
Also , since away from table choppers have been mostly exterminated (especially on the men's side) , manufacturers do not have to worry about choppers.
They can continue misleading the clueless chopper fools with blatantly false claims that semi-large blade are obe sized blades
Ignorant clueless chopper fools will believe anything that the ITTF & manufacturers say
