Based on what you wrote about how you play, have you ever considered using Long Pips on BH? It might be worth trying to see how you play with it once you get used to it. Based on your shot selection, having one side with LP might be really good for how you are already playing.
It would not help with smashing, but you could always twiddle to the Rakza 7 Soft side when you were going to smash.
Thanks for your reply. I have tried Long pips close to a year. It didn't suit my game and I couldn't get hold of it. As you said you can't smash with it ...and I always want to go for smashes on my BH, I switched over to plain rubber. Plus, I couldn't twiddle with it due to limitations in my playing hand.
Actually I agree with UpSideDownCarl (Ok I was partly joking about his stealing my comment from a few days earlier in this forum) about sk159 using slim or long pips.
But I disagree with iwiddling & smashing with spinny inverted . I use spinny inverted on my forehand & real non-ITTF long pips OX on my backhand. I found that smashing on backhand after twiddling is really mostly useless because everyone knows how to play against spinny inverted rubbers & they can return it much better than if I smash with my long pips (or even wide pips or anti). Smashing using spinny inverted especially on backhand is an even more useless stroke than smashing using spinny inverted on forehand due to 2 reasons > 1. Less power (so less speed) 2. Lack of variation
This is usually one of the big mistakes mos players make when sticking to two side spinny inverted. The all want to be like Ma Long but that is delusional.
sk159 needs to sacrifice something . Personally I found that smashing (flat hitting) on my backhand using OX long pips is lethal. sk159 needs to practice focusing on understanding the difference between smashing using a spinny inverted compared to smashing with OX long (ot slim) pips.
You need to open your racket a little more.
The dynamic range of slim or long pips on backhand for someone who does not loop is far superior to any other rubber.
But if sk159 ''s primary focus is only just enjoying smashing using inverted on backhand, there is not much anyone can do about it.
But that definitely is NOT a winning strategy .
So even my backhand loops are actually more varied and consistent than my forehand loops . I have chosen to sacrifice it to choose to backhand chop (when I use dto play) since I am a natural chopper
