Ryu Seungmin of South Korea, the 2004 Olympics Singles Gold Medalist, bad luck or destiny ?

He got exactly 50% of the vote in the first round
If he had received even one more of the ineligible 6 votes (182-176) , he would have gotten more than 50% required and had been elected in the first round itself

He got wiped out in later rounds for the remaining 1 of 8 seats.

Liu Guoliang , the self-proclaimed victim of the 2004 Pip Density Reduction Regulation , though the change was aimed at choppers
Virginia Sung , a chopper & a victim of the 1998 Durban Aspect Ratio Reduction Massacre .
But I doubt neither one will do anything about getting the Aspect Ratio Ratio increased from 1.1 to a fair value of 1.5 for the 40+ plastic ball ONLY era after the (click link >) 14 rule and regulation changes since 1977 by the ITTF
