No controversy
It look like he has two fixtures with Bundesliga one on 16th December & one on 21st
Same time frame as US Open 2025

It seems controversial.
Because my understanding is that very rarely do pro leagues refuse to release players to play in their home country's best national events.
In all fairness to Kanak he did play in US Closed 2025 and won.

But one still has to wonder why he would not play in US Open

I may be wrong but I think that in some countries you cannot play for the national team and Olympics unless you play in the major events in the country.
