Guys the reason is clear with the long pips ban of high aspect ratio the ITTF approved long pips no have self backspin generation
Very true

but some short pips with flex & grip still have self backspin generation that's it's a big advantage to manipulate the spin for defenders
Partially true.
True because , these types of wide pips (that simulate slim pips with more flex & higher pip length.......keep in mind that the maximum allowed pip length is exactly the same for any pips.......it was 2.00 mm between 1977 and 2024 &and 2.05 mm after 2024) can give little more spin generation that traditional stiff wide pips.
Not true because wide pips are still wide pips since the maximum allowed Aspect Ratio of wide pips is 0.89 (but I agree the max differential range is much smaller ...compared 1.3 AR to 0.89 before 1999 as compared to 1.1 AR to 0.89 AR after 1998)

when they wants with short pips don't need to receive topspin to make backspin.
Not true
Because if these wide pips are designed to act like slim pips , then they still need incoming top spin to cerate spin reversal like slim pips.
The difference is very minimal.

In essence what I am saying is that neo wide pips are just marketing gimmick by manufacturers. ITTF loves it because clueless moron choppers believe they can chop with wide pips just because Ding Song or Hou Yingchao or Han Ying etc can.
But fact is that these choppers Ding Song or Hou Yingchao or Han Ying etc are successful NOT because of wide pips but they are successful despite using wide pips due to their enormous talent.
Even a semi-pro chopper , let alone an amateur chopper can chop using wide pips like Ding Song or Hou Yingchao or Han Ying can

Also in all honesty , I also do not know if Ding Song or Hou Yingchao or Han Ying are boosting their sponge under their wide pips like crazy because I cannot imagine a small person like Han Ying generating such insane back spin using just the top sheet of wide pips. it is just against basic laws of physics.
Then again, Ding Song or Hou Yingchao or Han Ying may be using special smart blades. They may say it is one model & brand for promoting the blade but the blade they use may be TOTALLY different . It could be a smart blade with soft backhand wood for maximizing dwell time which increases back spin.
Also the wide pips top sheet made fr them may be custom. Just because it says TSP Spectol does not really mean it is the same rubber an amateur uses. It could be highly customized pips & could even be slim pips but the logo says wide pips LOL
Of course this is the problem with most clueless amateurs....they thing their favorite players use the exact blade & rubber that they are using.
Nothing can be more naive

You forgot an important thing, 85-90% is own technique & 10-15% is blade/rubber.

Agree and disagree
Technique is 100% important but that only pops up afTER you decide based on your testing as o what is your playing style of forehand & backhand.
Usually they are different.
Once you select the rubber type that is best for your style, only then you work on perfecting your technique.

Most robotNazis for example select spinny inverted rubber for their backhand just because FAn Zhendong or Ma Long or Rosskopf or Kreanga use it and try work on their technique.
But sadly the probability of success developing a consistent & powerful & versatile backhand using spinny inverted , for any human is less than 15 % at best (probably more like 5%). It is not anyone's fault. It is just the nature of human anatomy and backhand stroke mechanics.

I'm using backhand long pips 16 years ago due to an motorbike accident, the rest of my life always inverted both sides.

I can confirm it's way difficult to play with dangerous long pips if you want to win inverted both sides.

Beginers said when play against me that I win for the long pips, I left my blade to try and come me back in a couple of minutes.

Not everybody using dangerous long pips can master, everybody can master the no dangerous long pips that can't win matches no matter if you have a very good technique.

There are several things to think about before choose the long pips:
-You have to understand it's a defensive weapon nor a offensive weapon.
-You have to decide if your physical strenght allows to play classic defense (far from the table) or close to the table defense because really are very different ways to play and strategies to win, so different long pips & blades.
-Assume that easy long pips doesn't make direct point so you use as a way to come back to prepare your forehand win if you have enough physical strenght.
-Blade dimension and weight matters a lot for both kind of defense.
-Doesn't exist the perfect blade with two different speeds: one high speed and the other side low speed side.
-And so on....
