Blades hall of shame - Sanwei Two Face Defensive

Two face webpage

This is an asymmetric blade (meaning the two blade sides have different blade compositions...carbon is only on offense side)
Yes this is very good for a defensive player but the huge problem that qualifies this blade for Hall of Shame is its small size. See below.

The biggest problem is that they call it a defensive blade.
It is a joke because the size if no more tha 159 by 150 which is the size of most shakehand defensive blades
I am guessing 159 mm height (for FL model) because Sanwei's balde size description is extremely confusing because it includes the handle.
Doubly confusing is the size for CS model 240x150 (seems to be a penhold)

In all fairness to Sabwei, they did say they can make custom blades of any size if asked.
But it still leaves me wondering why bother making a defensive blade ?
Why not jst make a large 167 mm by 157 mm blage and a 175 mm by 175 mm super large version for modern defenders.

Re: Blades hall of shame - Giant Dragon Kris Carbon

Kris & Kris 2 were very successful even though they were small
Then they made probably 200 or 300 copies of Kris Carbon
It would have been excellent if they had made large & super large versions o fthis blade for modern defenders
Kris Carbon had Carbon only one side

Re: Blades hall of shame - All Butterfly Defensive blades after 40 ball

Post by Stina »

Butterfly made a few decent defensive blades in the 38 mm ball era

But they compleetly lost in touch with reality after the 40- ball arrived in 2000

Blades like Joos Sae Hyuk , Matsushita etc are pure crap in the 40 ball world.

Any blade that has a composite layer on the defensive (long pips) side is total garbage for the 40+ plus plastic ball era.
The Sanwei Two Face & Giant Dragon Kris are great designs as far as layer composition but are just too small

The size of these blades are also only semi large (around 163 mm ?) .
But given that most choppers are idiots they accept it when these manufacturers claim that 163 mm is an over sized blade.
170 is a large blade and 173 to 175 is a super large blade
