You are twisting Rufford Harrison's words by not explaining what he meant .StillTT wrote: on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 11:18am
If we want to simplify even further, then sandpaper is ready for a glorious comeback. Rufford Harrison says 25 years ago that sandpaper was made illegal accidentally. Time to fix that?
He only meant to say Sandpaper was left out of being made legal by omission (emaning there never ever were any ITTF proposals to make sandpaaper legal) . However theer is also a school of thought thast said that sandpaper was not made legal because the sandpaaper surface was damaging the earlier vesions of the celluloid or whatever balls .
So I suggest to StillTT that he do some fact chacking before posting misleading lies.
BTW I personally am all for approving sandpaper in ITTF events (if players are stupid enough to use rackets that don't truly enhance their differnt forehand & backhand playing styles, like sponge domain rackets do). If adults are stupid & selfish to keep promoting seperate hardbat & sandpaaper events for children & ruon their development , while other countries of Asia & Europe use proper sponge domain rubbers , hey go ahead and make fools of yourselves on the global arena, as if they (Asians & Europeans) do not already laugh at USA tabletennis enough .
