Highly technical & extremely controversial topics. Not for the faint of heart

Why are 99% of table tennis blades dumb blades ?

I was just wondering why an overwhelming majority of mainstream production blades , especially Japanese and European blades such as Butterfly , Stiga , Nittaku etc are dumb blades with identical layer (wood or composite material) composition both sides

Actually Click link > Dr.Neubauer has most of smart blade models.
Hallmark used to make quite a few nice smart blades but I am not sure about status of Hallmark.
Some people say it went out of business. Others say no

I read that Hallmark was dissolved as a company
https://find-and-update.company-informa ... ber%201999
But their inventory is available on many websites such as
https://www.contra.de/hoelzer/?manufact ... levanz&p=1
https://thorntonstabletennis.co.uk/prod ... -hallmark/
https://tabletennisstore.us/search?q=ha ... ix%5D=last

So stock up as these blades will soon become expensive collectors' blades

That is because these bigger companies only cater to the needs of (click link >) Top spin ONLY Olympic version fake table tennis crowd and not for the all spins diversity table tennis crowd.

TopSpin only Olympics Table Tennis does not require smart blades.
But all spins diversity table tennis does

Although all spins diversity table tennis is growing to the utter dismay of ITTF & IOC , the market is still for smart blades because most all spins diversity table tennis players are totally clueless about the need for a smart blade and or have been totally brainwashed by ITTF & its coaches

But keep in mind that when these above companies (in fact ALL manufacturers) call these blades defensive blades , they are ONLY referring to close to the table block & chop-block defenders. They are not referring to away from table chop defenders.

Because there is no single chopper blade that I know of is a smart blade that is also a chopper blade
Because a chopper blade most especially an amateur chopper blade, has to be at least 170 mm by 170 mm head size.
