It was ages ago that ITTF told rubber manufacturers to be twice as careful about the thickness limitations of the rubber topsheet. ITTF instructed all the associaties brands to stop producing rubber sheets ( OX-type) at the margin of limit 2.0 mm , and to always keep the sheets under the limit 1.80 mm. Some brands did responded, and some did not.
Manica Batra was unluckily supplied with a substandard product from TIBHAR, the Grass DTeck 1.9 mm thick without sponge , resulting in a racket control failure December 2025.
TIBHAR did killed Manika Batra to say the least. Ignorance of the laws makes no excuse, you must know.
The maximum pip length limit after 2024 is 2.05 mm not 2.00 mm
Goes to show who is the ignorant one here
The maximum pip limit limit of 2.00 mm you are talking about was set at the 1977 birmingham BGM to ban long pips
After 1977 there are no long pips in ITTF just slim pips,
ITTF calls the slim pips as long pips to brainwash the pips players especially the chopper fools
Manika Batra should NEVER have agreed to have her racket visually (or mechanically) inspected to start with.
She must have demanded the umpires first show chemical inspection equipment to test for common law illegal boosters & spein glues
She should also have demanded that every racket is being subjected to chemical inspection first.
Because since boosting / spein gluing are health issues , they have a higher priority for testing first
Also I am not sure if she even has to submit her pips side of the racket for mechanical measurements for rubber thickness.
If the rubber is OX & has official approval logo & is on current LARC no additional mechanical inspection is needed.
Also I am not sure they were using verified testing method
