I am chopping with my frictionless anti,
I am not sure why you would do that!
Good point
I do not know a top chopper using any anti (frictioned or frictionless) in the history of the sport
I do not think GregorTT425 has any clue as to anti or pips really works

anti is really not made for it but primarily for blocking topspin at the table. .
Fritionless anti is just a gimmick rubber .
It does exploit the fact that there is no COF minimu limit for anti kike the 0.5 limit for pips.
I wonder whatMatt Pimple will do when ITTF frops the hammer on FLP by invreasing COF to 0.5 (same as pips limit) for banning all FLP

Long pips are the only useful chopping rubber. Rest of the rubber typee such as ITTF-slim pips, anti or so called chopping wide pips are all useless dysfunctional social rubbers in the 40+ plastic ball only era. And you Matt Pimple have been brainwashed

If you like to chop away from the table long pips (heavy spin) or classic/grippy anti (safe, spin variations possible) are much better options.
First of all there is no "long" pips in ITTF table tennis.
The so called "long" pips deceptively listed as "long" are actully just slim pips that are dysfunctional social rubbers in the 40+ plastic ball only era.

However even these useless slim pips are better than so calld frictioned (classic / grippy) anti
How many top choppers in history from the day of introduction of anti , do you know used these classic antis ?

If you want to call the claasic antis to be grippy, you are clueless

One of the biggest myths in table tennis seems to be that anything that ihat is frictioless whether anti or pips will give more spin.
Most of this myth is also due to success of Tibhar Dtec OX, though this is an at the table blocking rubber and NOT an away from the tabe chopping rubber.
Simply because you can chop with DTec better than most other frictionless pips, it by no means implies that it can ve chopping rubber.
Then again, no chopping long pips exist and rubbers like Feint Long 2 or 3 or Victas P1 Curk are a huge joke in the 40+ plastic ball ONLY era.
ITTF does not want choppers to use what is best for them because it is a huge nuisance for boosted loopers.
The most amazing thing about ITTF is that they have successfully managed to brainwash the choppers into believing that they (ITTF) know what is best for the choppers, And the clueless choppers have accepted this for the past 25 years or so

Yes I agree completely!
Alex,
Let us not get carried away.
Matt Pimple is only partially correct.
As pointed out earlier, no top pro player EVER has uaed any anti, whether frictionless or frictioned

Also there is no such thing as a "grippy" anti.
That is an oxy moron
Yes the frictioned antis are more grippy than frictionless antis but frictioned antis are nowhere close to qualifying as chopper tools.
Even a low spin ITTF social pips like Tibhar Dtec OX is much better for chopping than ANY anti
As someone pointed out earlier, no top chopper EVER has used any anti
So , Matt Pimple & Alex, you need to get a grip on facts

If you can make it work for your game, I totally respect that!
.
Alex.
Why can't you be honest for once in your life.
When you make public posting, it is not just about one poster, but you are misleading potentially 1000s of players into thinking that anti is viable rubber for chopping. It was clearly poined out to you that no top chopper EVER used ANYI for chopping

DO you actualy understand how chopping works with anti as comparedt to short pips or spinny invrted or most espeially long pips?

For players just starting out in the transition, I think Matt Pimple's point is valid though and worth considering.
Not completely.
His suggestion that the so called (incorrectly) grippy anti is good for chopping is TOTALLY nutty.
How many top choppers you know in the history of the sport that used anti ? OMG
IN the 40+ plastic ball era . even the ITTF slim pips are totally useless
Do you or Matt Pimple even understand clearly how pips and anti work at teh basic level ?
