technical equipment document.
The maximum allowed pip length used to be 2 mm between 1977 and 2024 before 2024.
At the 1977 Birmingham BGM , ITTF banned all long pips by setting the max allowed pip length at 2.00 mm.
After that it was increased to 2.05 mm (but for political reasons and not technical reasons) at the 2024 Busan AGM
