I am looking to play only in USATT sanctioned tournaments.
The concern here is that I am only willing to use rubbers that would at least partially provide me a level & fair playing field in the 40+ plastic ball only era
What this means is that I wlll be using rubbers like Feint Long Classic which was banned in 1998 or rubbers like Magic 77
If you are a tournament director you may want to dismiss my request prematurely because you may be under the impression that ITTF rules do not allow you to do that.
But let me explain why your assumption is wrong.
ITTF affiliates such as USATT ,TTFI, TT Canada or CTTA or TT England etc. do not have to enforce every ITTF rule & regulation 100% in USATT tournaments unless it is an ITTF sanctioned tournament such as a WTT tournament
This is where most of the confusion comes .
Because 99% of USATT tournaments are NOT ITTF sanctioned tournaments
For example, even US Open 2026 is NOT an ITTF sanctioned tournament
US Opens used to be ITTF sanctioned tournaments but no more
Therefore USATT CEO & chopper Virginia Sung could allow me to play in US Open 2026 or any other USATT sanctioned tournaments using Magic 77 rubber
And TT Canada CEO & chopper Adham Sharara could allow me to play in any TTCanada sanctioned tournament
But they probably won’t allow me but they will allow all spein glue & booster cheats use what they want
In 2000 , NA Teams in Baltimore (a USATT regular tournament NOT a hardbat tournament) allowed Marty Reisman to use a racket with same color rubber both sides.
Same color rubbers are allowed in USATT hardbat events ONLY but not in regular events like NA teams and yet Marty Reisman was allowed to do so.
And there had never been any exception under USATT rules or regulations that I know of, that allows use of same color rubber racket if it is a hardbat racket.
If it was then I can also wonder if I can use say a same color long pips racket or a same color spinny inverted racket (one side heavily boosted max thickness & other side thin rubber)
I personally have no problem with whatever rubber my opponents use and have no issue with Marty Reisman used but I am just pointing out the hypocrisy of the USATT rules enforcement.
Also earlier that year in 2000 , I requested a USATT tournament to allow me to use Feint Long Classic . Not only was I denied permission but I was threatened before the tournament publicly not to show up for the tournament.
So if you are a Tournament Director for any USATT tournament, please let me know if you will give me exception and let me use Magic 77
BTW Magic 77 is NOT a treated rubber. It is NOT a frictionless type rubber. It is just actual long pips with least disruption designed for chop defender like me but designed for 40+ plastic ball only era
Just respond to this posting & I will register on Omnipong.
Thank you.
PS :- I TOTALLY understand if you cannot allow me but can only allow rackets that are illegally boosted or spein glued

HELLO !
There are limits on backspin because it is a nuisance
There are no limits on top spin because ITTF's version of Olympic table tennis is top spin only table tennis
